Local citation checker
A different phone number on one directory, an old address on another: these inconsistencies confuse customers and search engines. Locametra looks for your listing on each directory and compares it with your reference details.
Finding your listings
For each directory relevant to your country, Locametra runs a search limited to that directory with your name and city. When it finds a listing under your name, it records its address. If a listing matches your name but nothing confirms it is yours, it is only suggested: you say whether it is your business.
Comparing name, address and phone
Locametra compares the listing with your reference name, phone and address, on the page itself when the directory allows it, otherwise on the snippet shown by the search engine. An item that could not be compared is labelled “not compared”, never “consistent”.
A weekly check, with an email when something changes
After the first search, the check runs again every week. You receive an email only when there is news: a listing that no longer matches, a possible listing to confirm, or a listing newly found.
What you get
- Directories suited to your country: Yelp, Yellow Pages and BBB in the United States, Yell and Thomson Local in the United Kingdom, Yellow Pages Canada and Canada411 in Canada, plus Facebook, Apple Maps and Bing
- Your listing found automatically, or pasted by you
- Name, phone and address compared item by item
- Weekly monitoring with email alerts
Questions
Does Locametra create or edit my listings?
No. It finds and checks them. Corrections are made by you on each directory's website; Locametra tells you which ones need it.
Why are some items “not compared”?
Many directories do not allow automated reading of their pages. In that case Locametra compares what the search engine shows of the listing, and tells you plainly which items it could not verify.
Is my Google Business Profile included?
The Google listing has its own screen in Locametra. The citation checker covers the other directories.
